No. Unfortunately, iPage does not offer cPanel. Instead, they offer their own customized version of cPanel which they refer to as vDeck. While this may seem like an issue to users that enjoy the ease-of-use, flexibility, and reliability of cPanel, it should be noted that the two are very similar.
One of the qualms about cPanel over the years is that there is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to using the control panel efficiently. iPage’s vDeck was created as a way to shorten that learning curve and allow beginner and intermediate website owners the ability to grow their website at a faster pace with an easier-to-use control panel.
Some of the main features included in vDeck that make it a great addition for iPage users include:
- Easy Website Management. vDeck includes a drag-and-drop site builder tool to create and build your website while the file and FTP management tools are incredibly easy-to-use.
- E-Commerce. With vDeck, you can set up a flexible shopping cart, setup a credit card payment system, and even build in gift card options.
- Marketing Tools. When you first sign up for iPage’s web hosting services, you receive an abundance of free Google, Yahoo, and Facebook advertising credits. vDeck already has them integrated into the system so you can use them immediately, and purchase more if you would like.
- Account Management. Managing your account setting and checking over billing information is incredibly easy through vDeck. You can even manage your support tickets and make payments directly from the panel.
Overall, most website owners that are experienced with cPanel will probably be disappointed in the fact that iPage does not offer it as an option.
As has been noted, however, you will not find many drastic differences with the two and the vDeck actually works much more seamlessly with the rest of the iPage platform than a third party control panel would.
